About

The Safe to Learn Benchmarking Tool translates the Call to Action into a set of indicators to assess progress towards ensuring safe and enabling learning environments. By outlining the accountabilities of the education sector it enables countries to set baselines and track progress towards ending violence in, around and through schools at national level. In 2023-24 the Safe to Learn Secretariat conducted a benchmarking exercise to assess and document progress on the 2023 level of implementation of the Call to Action in countries that have endorsed it, in collaboration with UNICEF Country Offices, governments and partners. While the benchmarking assessment is conducted using standard benchmarks, the results are country specific.
