The Code of Conduct for Teachers and other Education Personnel in Sierra Leone

This policy document, developed by Sierra Leone's Teaching Service Commission (TSC), establishes professional standards and behavioural expectations for teachers and education personnel across Sierra Leone. It supersedes the 2009 Code of Conduct and is supported by a suite of teacher management instruments covering registration, licensing, development, and performance. The Code emphasizes teachers' responsibilities towards learners' rights, safety, and well-being, and is designed to support the government's Free Quality School Education agenda. It was developed with technical and financial support from the World Bank, UNICEF, the European Union, and other development partners.
