Global leaders commit to making schools Safe to Learn

In 2019, during the High-Level Political Forum, senior leaders from governments, the UN, and international organizations announced significant new commitments to address the global crisis of school violence. More than 150 people attended the event. During the
event the UK Government announced more than $5 million in funding for Safe to Learn through the End Violence Fund. Participants included ministers and leaders from the education and child protection communities. Many made commitments to ending violence in school within their own countries, or pushing forward efforts to target the issue on a local, regional or global scale.
